Thursday, February 22nd 2007 AXEL BRAUN EXPLORES THE DARK SIDE OF MEMPHIS With her sweet Southern twang and innocent blue eyes, Hustler contract starlet Memphis Monroe forsakes her roots and explores her sinful side in the production company's latest title, The Dark Side of Memphisi. In stores today, the Axel Braun-helmed release plays out as a fantasy fuckfest that has Monroe controlling all of the action. The title stars the wholesome performer alongside former Vivid-girl Lacie Heart, fellow contract star Mya Luanna, Ana Nova, Jennifer Dark, Scott Nails, Sascha and Jay Lassiter. "We shot this in true HD, which is great", Braun told AVN.com, "I decided to go against the whole contract-girl stereotype, which is that they don't do anything...they only shoot b/g scenes with three or four specific people on their list. Well, this is Hustler, so things are a little different. I wanted to shoot some pretty nasty stuff and push Memphis' limits, because I saw the potential in her. Luckily, she really rose to the occasion, and was very sweet and professional. It was definitely a great experience". Is this a prelude to Braun's return to big budget features? The award-winning director behind such classics as Compulsion and Cadillac Highwayi has been busy with a massive output of gonzo project in the last couple of years, but the word on the street is that he's about to come out with a huge movie, shot entirely on film. "I don't know, we'll see", smiles the Italian-born director, "but Larry Flynt gave me a bigger budget than usual with this one", Braun continued, "so I spent extra time and effort making sure that everything was top-notch".
