OUI Interview with Axel Braun *First off, you have an incredible background...how did you get into the porn business... Gee, that’s a good question…I’m not sure. I guess it just happened. I grew up in it, since my father had been a producer and director since the early 60’s *What led you to be a porn director... When I was 7 years old I went with my father to see a movie: “The four feathers”, an epic tale of love, honor, betrayal and redemption. I was so impressed with it that I decided I wanted to make movies. I started experimenting with 8mm cameras, and then…puberty hit me. At the age of 15 I shot my first hard-core 8mm scene, with a girl that lived next door. I sold about 100 copies of the film in school. *Seems that you're following in the footsteps of your father, who was also in the porn business...did you grow up around all this. When you’re 16 and the average weekend with your dad involves half a dozen naked chicks in your bed…I guess you can say that you are growing up around porn. *Any words of advice that your father gave you... Get laid. A lot. *What's it like working with your father...[just give a brief info on your father] I learned a lot from him. He is a brilliant filmmaker, and a tremendous control-freak. He was the first to produce, shoot, and distribute hard-core, and he’s considered the father of modern pornography. Having had the luxury of learning from Lasse Braun put me in a position where everything came relatively easy. But, make no mistake, I paid my dues. The years I spent as his sidekick were pretty…intense. We’re talking about almost slavery. The truth is I enjoyed being part of all his projects. The guy is about the most intelligent man I ever met. And he’s insane. That makes for a lot of fun. *You've received notoriety for one of your earlier movies "The Adventures of G-Man" and your ability to make women cum with your hands...tell us about your infamous talent... :-) [Just what was your technique to making women cum like this....] When I was a little kid I was a baby genius. I learned how to read and write by the age of 2. But I didn’t feel like I was particularly gifted, I just thought everybody else was stupid. The best thing is that I get paid to do what I love. The worse? That I work harder than most people would think. After I became General Manager of Elegant Angel, my private life has become non-existant. *Best scene you've ever shot... I hate all my movies. I always see the flaws, and what I could have done better. If I have to pick, I would say something from “Seduction”. *Favorite girl to work with… Any girl that shows up on time, doesn’t act like a primadonna, and doesn’t tell me that “it’s just porn”. In other words, a professional. Belladonna is a perfect example. *What really goes on behind the scenes...do girls sometimes not want to do stuff that you had in mind... You don’t wanna know what goes on behind the scenes… *Ever have anyone walk off your set... No. I’m a nice guy. *How much direction do you give the actors as far as the sex scenes go? I tell them exactly what the mood has to be, and a few things that I want to see. I always want a lot of foreplay, a lot of kissing, a lot of eye-contact. But I try to let them go for it during the scene. *What's a day in the life of a porn director...give a brief scenario of a day of shooting... Grueling. Stressful. Certainly not want “civilians” think. Much like my father I’m quite the control-freak. I write the script, cast the show, shoot camera, edit and compose the music of everything I do. When the camera starts rolling, there’s no room for mistakes. It’s quite hectic. *Tell us about your upcoming movies...what kind of sex can the viewers expect from you in the future... I am about to start shooting my first feature on film. It’s called “Compulsion”. Ashley Long has the lead role, and it’s a very ambitious project. It’s the biggest thing I’ve ever done, and I’ve put a lot of passion, time, and energy into it. Oh, yeah, a lot of money, too… *How do u go about picking the girls for your movies... When I interview girls I don’t even want to see them naked. The most important thing to me is their personality. What? Oh, right, and their ass… *Who’s the most demanding porn star that you've worked with... You mean, the biggest cunt? Temptress. *What favorite sex scene do you like shooting... Boy-Girl-Girl *What’s the most bizarre sex scene that you’ve shot… A triple-anal penetration. Fifteen years ago, in Germany. The problem was not the width of the girls asshole, but the casting and choreography of the three cocks. Over 8 hours of repositioning. *How long does the average scene take to shoot... Between an hour and a half and…eight months. That’s how long it took me to film a scene that involved my girlfriend at the time, Chelsea Blue. We were arguing so much that the scene could never get finished. We broke up after the movie was done, I took the masters with me to Europe and they got seized at customs. That was three years ago, and they haven’t returned them yet. Yes, those were the only copies I had. Yes, I am an idiot.
